Where is the site located?
The site is located in Wandsworth with the Thames Path to the north and Wandsworth Town Station and Old York Road to the south. It is approximately a 6 minute walk to Wandsworth Town Station. The site was identified for redevelopment by Wandsworth Council in 2010 and is also a part of the Wandsworth Thames Policy Area.
What are the proposals?
Our plans are for a mixed use development which will provide new and affordable homes, high quality public realm, new shops and office space which will create jobs for the local area.
How many new homes will there be?
The current plans for the site are for 517 new homes including affordable housing.
What are the proposals for new public realm and landscaping?
The plans deliver shared spaces to encourage co-working and create vibrant and exciting new public realm. The proposals have been designed to step back from the site boundary and create new courtyards and squares across the site. The plans will also benefit the wider public realm improvements currently taking place across Wandsworth Town. New pedestrian connections will also be created through the site linking Wandsworth Town Station and the Old York Road area to the River Thames. Pedestrian connections will be created through the site from Osiers Road to Smugglers Way and the river.
Will there be any new commercial space?
A priority for the development of the site is to create an active ground floor level with new shops, cafes and business work spaces that open up on to the new public realm. Our proposals offer varied, flexible workspaces to accommodate a mix of different businesses and encourage new tenants to the area.
How tall will the development be?
The proposals are for a series of new buildings ranging from 8 to 15 storeys in height.
When will a planning application be submitted?
A planning application was submitted to Wandsworth Council in January 2017 and can be viewed at Wandsworth Council's website by clicking here.
What further public consultation will be taking place?
London Square is committed to working with the local community throughout the development of our design proposals. We will continue to meet with local residents and stakeholders as we finalise our plans and the project website will be kept regularly up to date with the latest information on our plans.
